Designing the interface for an AI-powered health forecasting app.

Touch Medical is a health tech startup with a clear vision: using AI to forecast your personal wellbeing, not unlike a weather forecast but for your body and mind. By combining data from questionnaires, wearables and connected devices, the app predicts how you are likely to feel in the coming days and weeks. It also offers tools and information to help users take action on their health, giving them a window into what is coming and the means to respond to it.
I joined a globally distributed team as the sole designer, working alongside AI strategists, product thinkers and developers spread across multiple time zones.
My job was to catch the essence of the technology and translate it into a user interface that felt approachable and clear, without losing the intelligence underneath. That meant contributing to product concept discussions as well as owning the design entirely. Shaping how the forecasting logic would be communicated visually, how feedback would feel and how a user would actually navigate something this layered on a mobile screen.
Process
Over four months I worked in two-weekly cycles, meeting with the team and delivering screen-recorded presentations to stakeholders to keep everyone aligned across time zones. One of the core design challenges was flexibility. The interface had to be able to handle a wide variety of data inputs and outputs, since the information coming back to the user could vary significantly depending on what data was available. That required a framework that could adapt without losing clarity or consistency. Working asynchronously on a product category that barely exists yet called for a more exploratory and iterative approach than most projects allow.
Results
The project produced a working concept for a mobile-first web app that was launched to a small test audience, validating the design direction with early users.
